How much in-hand salary do you get on each LPA package?
In India for Tax Year 2026-27, a 12 LPA CTC pays about ₹93,788 a month in hand under the new tax regime. 6 LPA gives about ₹44,990, 10 LPA ₹77,522, 18 LPA ₹1,31,144, 24 LPA ₹1,68,727 and 30 LPA ₹2,02,969.
Up to 12 LPA there is no income tax at all under the new regime, so the gap between CTC and take-home is PF, gratuity and professional tax. Above that, tax starts to bite, and by 30 LPA you keep 81 paise of every rupee of monthly CTC.
How we worked out these numbers
We ran each CTC through the CTC to in-hand salary calculator on this site with one common salary structure:
- Basic salary at 50% of CTC
- PF on the ₹15,000 wage ceiling, so ₹1,800 a month from you and the same from your employer
- Employer PF and a gratuity provision both counted inside CTC
- Maharashtra professional tax, ₹2,500 a year
- No other income, no employer NPS, no variable pay
Income tax uses the Tax Year 2026-27 slabs, the standard deduction, the rebate that wipes out tax on taxable income up to ₹12 lakh under the new regime, and 4% cess. For the old regime we show two cases: one where your own PF is the only deduction, and one with ₹1.5 lakh of 80C (PF included) plus ₹2 lakh of HRA exemption, health insurance or home loan interest.

| ₹6,00,000 | ₹44,990 | ₹44,990 | ₹44,990 |
| ₹10,00,000 | ₹77,522 | ₹69,847 | ₹75,540 |
| ₹12,00,000 | ₹93,788 | ₹82,076 | ₹88,422 |
| ₹18,00,000 | ₹1,31,144 | ₹1,15,649 | ₹1,24,188 |
| ₹24,00,000 | ₹1,68,727 | ₹1,49,222 | ₹1,57,761 |
| ₹30,00,000 | ₹2,02,969 | ₹1,82,795 | ₹1,91,334 |
A quick rule of thumb from this table: under the new regime, monthly in-hand is about 90 paise of CTC ÷ 12 at 6 LPA, 94 paise at 12 LPA, 87 paise at 18 LPA and 81 paise at 30 LPA. Dividing CTC by 12 overstates take-home at every level. On 12 LPA that naive figure is ₹1,00,000, against a real ₹93,788.

At 6, 10 and 12 LPA the only deductions are fixed ones. Employer PF is ₹21,600 a year at every salary here because it is capped at the ₹15,000 wage ceiling. The gratuity provision grows with basic pay, ₹28,846 at 12 LPA. Your own PF matches the employer's, and professional tax is a flat ₹2,500.
Above 12 LPA income tax becomes the biggest single item. It is ₹1,37,307 a year at 18 LPA, ₹2,71,884 at 24 LPA and ₹4,46,561 at 30 LPA under the new regime.
New regime vs old regime on the same CTC
With only PF as a deduction, the old regime loses at every salary from 10 LPA up. The new regime puts ₹7,675 a month more in your hand at 10 LPA, ₹11,712 at 12 LPA, ₹15,495 at 18 LPA and ₹20,173 at 30 LPA. At 6 LPA both regimes come to ₹44,990 because there is no tax either way.
Heavy deductions close some of that gap but, on these numbers, not all of it. With ₹1.5 lakh of 80C and ₹2 lakh of other deductions, the old regime is still ₹5,366 a month behind at 12 LPA, ₹6,956 at 18 LPA and ₹11,635 at 30 LPA. You'd need larger deductions than that, typically a big HRA exemption in a metro plus home loan interest, before the old regime wins. The old vs new regime calculator finds the break-even point for your own figures, and the HRA exemption calculator works out the HRA part.
Why your own payslip may differ
Salary structures vary a lot between employers, and a few choices move the monthly number noticeably:
- PF on full basic. If your employer runs PF on your whole basic rather than the ₹15,000 ceiling, both PF figures rise and in-hand falls. That money goes into your EPF account, so it isn't lost, but you won't see it monthly.
- Gratuity outside CTC. Some employers don't include it, which raises gross salary.
- Variable pay. If part of your CTC is a yearly bonus, your monthly pay is lower and the bonus month higher.
- Your state. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana levy no professional tax; the professional tax calculator covers the others.
- Monthly TDS. Your employer spreads tax over the year and adjusts it when you submit proofs, so individual months can differ from the average shown here.
What the calculator leaves out
- Employer NPS, meal cards, leave travel and other tax-free benefits
- Other income such as interest or rent, which pushes up your slab
- Senior citizen slabs under the old regime
- EPFO's rounding of PF to the nearest rupee
